Fuzzy Logic Controller Based Perturb and Observe Maximum Power Point Tracking

This paper presents a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) based technique to design an adaptive perturb and observe (P&O) maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller. The objective is to improve the efficiency of a standalone solar energy system consisting of a photovoltaic (PV) panel and a DC/DC buck converter connected to a variable load. The proposed FLC based technique is implemented on a TMS320F28335 DSP board and compared to the conventional P&O technique. The performance of the proposed system is validated through outdoor experiments with a 150-Watt PV system.
