Fault-tolerant control with holding performance

In order to solve actuator failures, one new strategy is proposed for active fault-tolerant controllers with holding performance. The problem of fault-tolerance is transformed into the problem of linear matrix inequation(LMI) and resolved rapidly by the LMI box in the Matlab software. The method employed avoids the problem of conservativeness of conventional passive fault-tolerant control and the risk of instability associated with active fault-tolerant control in the case of an incorrect fault detection and isolation decision. In other words, the correct fault detection and isolation decision will further lead to optimal performance of the system. Finally,a simulation example is given, and the simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
