Research on power quality simulation and enhancement scheme of the distribution system of factory

In response to the requirements of power quality enhancement project of the automobile factory, this paper proposes a hybrid compensation scheme based on a combination of dynamic reactive power compensator and a dual active power filters topology. The power stage of the hybrid compensation system is presented, and an optimized current sensor(CT) position is pointed out such that a feed-forward plus feedback control algorithms can be implemented simultaneously. The designing procedure for reactive compensator as well as its switching strategies is discussed, and the control strategy for the dual active filters is also presented.Electromagnetic transient program(EMTP) is used for digital simulations based on the field data and the derived system parameters. It’s revealed that the proposed scheme can improve significantly the power quality of the 10/0.4kV distribution system, and the harmonic injection to the utility grid can be within the limit of IEEE 519-1992 standard.
