A new current balancing method for digitally controlled interleaved PFC

Interleaved power converters require equal and stable current balancing between phases. This digest presents a new current balancing approach to boost interleaved power factor correction (PFC) circuit. With the advantage of digital control, the current balancing is simplified and only the total of the switch currents needs to be sensed for the operation. The proposed approach can achieve equal current balancing between phases with circuit parameter mismatch. Experimental results verify the performance of the proposed control approach on a 600W two-phase boost PFC converter.
