Kinetics of mineral matter transformation during coal combustion

Abstract The transformation of individual minerals was investigated based on TG and DTG analysis at temperature up to 1700 K in inert and oxidizing atmospheres. The decomposition of minerals in inert atmosphere and the reaction with gaseous atmosphere was described by first order reactions for which the kinetic data were found. The evaluated kinetic parameters were then tested on a complex mineral matter of coals. It has been demonstrated on example of two different compositions that the mass loss during the transformation of coal mineral matter during combustion can be modelled as a mixture of individual minerals.
