Q/sup 2/DPSK in the satellite mobile channel with ISI and CSI

The performance of quadrature-quadrature differential phase shift keying (Q/sup 2/DPSK) in the satellite mobile channel is analyzed. The expression for the bit error probability takes into account both intersymbol and cross-symbol interference (ISI and CSI). Numerical results are presented for a sine, cosine pulse pair. It is shown that Q/sup 2/DPSK with four symbols outperforms DPSK with eight symbols. It is concluded that Q/sup 2/DPSK is both power and bandwidth efficient in the satellite mobile channel.<<ETX>>
