Modern Structural Chemistry.

In modern chemistry, understanding the structure of a compound helps explain the properties of any materials made from that compound. This so-called ‘structure-function’ paradigm is especially useful in pharmaceutical, agricultural, materials and catalysis chemistry. Single-crystal neutron diffraction is able to reveal a large amount of information related to molecular structure, which is not possible through single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies, and so provides significant enhancement to some X-ray studies.
