According to the limitation of the closed control system applied by the traditional industrial robot,an open architecture welding robot based on PCI motion card is designed in this paper.The mechanical structure of robot and the hardware composition of the open control system based on industrial computer and PCI motion card are presented.The control software developed by means of objective-oriented technology and the modular is also introduced in this paper.The experiments show the operation of the!welding robot is steady and the quality of welding is stable.
