Design of a C-band Dual-beam Feed for Angular Diversity Antenna System

A dual-beam feed has been designed in this work,to solve the problem that a two-horn feed in angular diversity antenna system usually can not achieve the desired diversity result.The VSWR of the coupling port of OMT has been reduced by placing septum in the stepped-impedance transformation; and the size of the feed has been decreased by using rod dielectric antenna instead of horn antenna so that the feed can meet the requirement of the best squint angle( 0.75 ~ 1 times of the beam width).The dual-beam feed has been designed and optimized by the CST code,the VSWR is less than 1.3 in the bandwidth of 12.7%.
