Response to Early Warning Signals

Abstract This chapter describes how the surveillance department conducts investigation and verification, risk assessment, and takes necessary public health actions after the early warning system detects or produces a warning signal. We need to verify the reliability and validity of the warning signal, to conduct a risk assessment to see how it may affect public health, and to advise what kind of actions are required to prevent and control a communicable disease.
