What a Decade of Experiments Reveals about Factors that Influence the Sense of Presence: Latest Findings

Abstract : This report reviews the results of experiments that have examined the sense of spatial presence experienced in virtual environments. It provides guidance about factors that have a good probability of manipulating presence and gives an idea of the scope of experimentation that has been performed. Over 120 experiments are identified but the analysis focuses on those experiments that have been replicated (more or less) and on factors that have shown consistent results across studies.
