Battery Integration in Distributed Droopless DC Microgrid

This paper presents an overview of the power sharing concepts in DC microgrid with battery storage systems (BSS); proposes a new distributed control architecture; details effective charging and discharging BSS algorithms integrated into the proposed architecture. Two different BSS charging strategies are studied in this paper, which complement the proposed decentralized droop-less power sharing control without the use of the explicit telecommunication. Simulations and experiment results are included, which confirm viability of effective battery integration in the proposed microgrid power sharing control.
