Implementation of a novel approach for the simulation of Cognition based on Situation-Operator-Modeling and high-level Petri Nets

This contribution presents the concept and implementation of a novel architecture for Cognitive Technical Systems, which is methodically based on Situation-Operator-Modeling realizing the representation of the real world's structure in a unique and homogeneous manner. It is realized by high-level Petri Nets and a related software tool providing graphical modeling and simulation. As a special feature, several instances of the cognitive architecture can be combined to reduce the complexity of the real world by a problem-oriented encapsulation of different action spaces. Finally, an example focusing the interaction of an agent in a dynamic environment is given.
