RSS-based location estimation in mobility assisted wireless sensor networks

A large number of innovative applications of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) demands accurate location estimation of sensor nodes. This would lead to proper identification of significant event locations. Several Received Signal Strength (RSS) based localization schemes have been proposed with multiple anchor nodes. In this paper, we propose a novel localization algorithm based on RSS measurements with only one Mobile Anchor (MA) node. It incorporates least square method to estimate the location of static sensor nodes. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
