Automated micro manipulation system with protein crystal

The goal of our project is to realize an automation system to operate a protein crystal in the analytical work of protein structure. The system includes a micro hand to manipulate small objects and an integrated vision to observe micro objects with the all-in-focus image. In this paper, new calibration technique is proposed to realize the fine resolution on micro operation, then several experimental results show the validity of our proposed system on an automatic operation using a /spl Phi/8/spl mu/m micro glass ball.
