An energy balanced-virtual force algorithm for Mobile-WSNs

Sensor deployment is the most important issue in the wireless sensor networks (WSNs). A good deployment algorithm could greatly improve effectiveness of WSNs with lower energy consumption of the whole network. Virtual force algorithm (VFA) as a popular solution to this problem has attracted more and more attention from academic and industrial field. In this paper, an energy-balanced VFA method with energy control is proposed. An evaluation metric called homogenous degree function is introduced to evaluate the uniformity of the node distribution. Numerical simulations have been carried out to evaluate the performance of the provided method. The results show that the proposed approach can provide higher coverage rate and more uniformity with less energy consumption compared to the traditional VFA method.
