Digital control systems: H/sub infinity / controller design with a zero-order hold function

H/sub infinity / control problems for digital control systems are investigated in both finite and infinite horizon cases. Necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of controllers that satisfy a specified H/sub infinity / performance bound. These conditions are stated in terms of Riccati differential equations with jumps. When these conditions hold, explicit formulas for a controller satisfying the H/sub infinity / performance bound are given.<<ETX>>
