Choosing t-Norms and t-Conorms for Fuzzy Controllers

The choice of t-norms and the dual t-conorms should, in principle, play a key role in the operation of a fuzzy control system, particularly the output of the system. The t-norms are expressed differently and appear to have different properties. We show analytically, using a zero-order Takagi-Sugeno controller the regions where the choice of a t-norm is important. We then simulated the behaviour of a Cartpole as a Mamdani-controller and computed the controller's output for different choices of t-norms and t-conorms.
