Research of Indoor Local Positioning Based on Bluetooth Technology

Local positioning computing is an important factor of mobile applications. GPS serves well for most outdoor applications, however, it is not suitable for indoor positioning. Bluetooth is a technology with low-power, short-distance, wireless systems, can be used to construction a wireless services of indoor. The development of local positioning services based on the Bluetooth technology is discussed in this paper. Then we proposed a approach based on the positioning information exchanged between the master and slave devices within the Bluetooth network. Finally, a basic implementation of the proposed services based on the Bluetooth technology is presented.
