Periodic and Multirate Filtering

In this chapter we will consider more general filtering problems which apply to cases where the underlying system is inherently time-varying. We will give particular emphasis to the special case of periodic systems. Potential application areas of these results are extensive and include subband coding of speech and video, narrowband filtering, short-time spectral analysis and geophysical signal processing.
